Rain in Joliet Postpones Saturday’s Game to Sunday

Joliet, IL – For the first time in the 2024 season, the Crushers will be delayed and postponed due to rain. The Lake Erie Crushers (11-8) and Joliet Slammers (8-11) were sent into a rain delay at their scheduled start time on Saturday.

The two sides will play a doubleheader on Sunday, with the first game set for 12:05pm EST. Game two will begin shortly after the conclusion of game one. Both games will be an abbreviated seven innings.

The Crushers are looking to get back in the win column after consecutive losses and have a chance to snag a two-for-one on Sunday in Joliet.

The team also announced two roster moves: RHP Brayden Bonner and OF Sean Cheely were released.

Brayden Bonner (1-2) put up a 2.79 ERA in 9.2 IP over 9 appearances.

Sean Cheely started 8 games for Lake Erie, hitting .125 with two doubles and going 4-5 in stolen base attempts.

Cheely’s release on Friday was the corresponding move to activate UTIL Jose Torrealba off the IL.
