Crushers To Host Solar Eclipse Watch Party

( December 18, 2023: AVON, Ohio ) The Lake Erie Crushers announced today they will be hosting a solar eclipse watch party at the ballpark in Avon, Ohio Monday April 8th of 2024. The event will feature live entertainment, interactive exhibits and activities for kids and adults who come out to watch the historic full solar eclipse.

“We hear the term once-in-a-lifetime in all sorts of marketing, well this truly is a once-in-a- lifetime event for residents of northern Ohio”, stated Crushers Co-Owner Tom Kramig. “We’re gearing this event towards Cleveland’s west-side families with lots of entertainment and activities for kids who will be out of school this day.”

On Monday, April 8, 2024, the Moon will pass between the Sun and Earth, providing a rare opportunity for those in the path of the Moon’s shadow to see a total solar eclipse, including the Sun’s outer atmosphere, or corona. This will be the only time between now and 2044 that a total solar eclipse will be visible in the United States.

The Crushers’ interactive “watch party” will give families the ultimate viewing experience with the ability to view the event from the field. Channel 19 will also be broadcasting live from the ballpark as part of their “Lights Out in the Land” coverage.

National touring group, Fusion. Live will be presenting live entertainment and STEAM-related activities. Free protective glasses will also be provided courtesy of North Coast Eye Care and an entry-to-win opportunity. Lorain County Public Library will also be involved as will Lorain County Community College. Event details will continue to be updated on the Lake Erie Crushers’ website. Tickets will be available for advance purchase ($15-$20) on the Crushers’ website beginning in early December, making it a great holiday gift!
