Crushers Announce Full Capacity for Mercy Health Stadium

The Lake Erie Crushers, who are presented by Akron Children’s Hospital, have announced that Mercy Health Stadium will return to full capacity for all home games effective June 2nd. The announcement follows Ohio Governor Mike Dewine’s announcement that the State of Ohio will lift its COVID-19 health restrictions on June 2nd. The Crushers open their regular season on Thursday, May 27th, at home with a 5-game series over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Seating will be socially distanced for the first 5-games. However, the Crushers are allowing selected sections of the ballpark to exceed the current State of Ohio social distancing requirements during these first 5-games if the fans within these areas can show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Mercy Health Stadium will return to full capacity Friday, June 11th, when the Crushers return from a 9-game road trip. Masks will no longer be required in the ballpark as of this date. “We cannot wait to welcome all of our Crushers fans back to Mercy Health Stadium this summer,” stated Crushers Co-Owner Tom Kramig. “The Governor’s lifting of the social distancing and mask-wearing health orders is another step back towards normal, and nothing is more normal than watching baseball in the summertime.”
