The Lake Erie Crushers, located in Avon, Ohio, are accepting applications for General interns for the 2023 season. As a Lake Erie Crushers General intern you will have the opportunity to experience and partake in many different aspects of how a professional baseball team operates. Interns can gather practical work experience in all aspects of professional sports including, but not limited to:
- Marketing / Promotions
- Stadium Operations
- Ticketing
- Corporate Client Management
- Concessions
- Special Projects
Responsibilities:
- Participate in Game Day rotational program which will allow you to experience multiple aspects of minor league baseball operations
- Help plan, promote, and execute promotional / theme nights
- Assist with: Public Relations, Community Development, Media Relations, and various other office needs
- Work with Stadium Operations staff to execute baseball games and other stadium events
- Work all aspects of ticketing process from sales support to box office operations and game day ticketing tasks
- Work with corporate client development program
- Learn all aspects of concession operations
- Work all Crushers’ home games and events
Qualifications:
- Currently attending, an accredited university. (All majors welcomed)
- Passion to work in the sports industry
- Ability to think outside the box, and bring new ideas to the table
- Maintain a professional demeanor during his pressure situations
- Capability to work long hours in various types of weather
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Enjoy working as part of a team

Graphic Design and Social Media Internship:

The Lake Erie Crushers are accepting applications for Graphic Design Interns for the 2023 Baseball Season who are interested in social media, content creation, and website management. This position will include working with our Digital Content Manager on carrying out the creative efforts of the Lake Erie Crushers in the ballpark and the marketplace.
This position is UNPAID and you MUST receive school credit.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our Digital Content Manager to enhance the overall vision and execution of the public and marketplace image of the Crushers
- Design graphic projects for trade advertisements, posters, flyers, in-stadium signage, sales projects, sponsor mock-ups, website, social media, and more
- Assist in planning and executing all marketing & promotional events, and strategies.
- Assist with drafting content and analytics for the Crushers’ social media networks.
- Capture proof of performance materials for end-of-season reviews
- Assist with management and maintenance on LakeErieCrushers.com
- Support the creation and development of in-game elements including on-field promotions, fan interactive elements, mascot skits, music, etc.
- Develop, prepare for and participate in various theme nights
- Decorate the stadium and prepare for the various theme nights throughout the season
- Assist in any other duties put forth by Crushers full-time staff
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in digital media, sports management, graphic design, marketing, communications, multi-media journalism or related field
- Skills: Familiarity with WordPress, Hootsuite, Canva, Creative Cloud (or similar social content management tools)
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must be available for a majority of the games.
- Ability to multitask and complete tasks within deadlines.
- Ability and desire to embrace creativity and spontaneity and to think “outside the box”
Job Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Canva
- Demonstrated experience with print production, web graphics (video editing a plus)
- Photography experience a plus
- HTML and web design experience a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends

Content Creator Internship

The Lake Erie crushers are looking for multiple interns interested in videography, video editing, live broadcast production, and photography for the 2023 season. These positions are UNPAID, and academic credit is REQUIRED to participate in this program.
Opportunities:
- Shoot and edit news-and entertainment-style video packages of player interviews, community relations events and appearances, and other team-related events.
- Compile and edit the footage into video highlight segments.
- Shoot game footage during live games and promotional events during stoppages.
- Archive, log and maintain game footage and photos for future use.
- Participate in live broadcast production crew for Lake Erie Crushers home games. Duties would include Broadcast Directing, Remote camera control and live graphic production
- Capture Proof of Performance materials (photo & video) for end-of-season reviews by Corporate clients
- Acquire hands-on experience with Marketing & Promotions department to provide quality marketing materials
- Learn how to organize all game day photos following each game in an organized manner.
Qualifications:
- General knowledge of photography equipment including editing software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.
- General knowledge of video production equipment including camera, digital recording media, switcher, graphic and editing systems, etc.
- Experience working in a live production environment a definite pus
- Knowledge of streaming services and how to run the software
- Expectation to attend a majority of the Crushers’ home games
- May be asked to provide own camera equipment. Editing software is Adobe Creative Cloud and is available for use
- Strong organizational and communication skills.

Finance Internship
The Lake Erie Crushers are searching for a Summer Intern in our Finance Department for the 2023 Baseball season. The right candidate will have a basic understanding of financial principles, strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, and be available to work nights and weekends between May 10th and Mid-September. Prerequisites for this position include but are not limited to:
Qualifications:
- A basic understanding of basic financial concepts & principles
- Strong math skills
- Strong computer skills, including an excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Availability to work nights & weekends between May 10th and September 15th
- Excellent data tracking and analytical skills
This internship will provide the candidate with a basic understanding of the financial structure and day to day operations of a professional sports franchise. The intern will learn cash management, filing methods, data tracking, and financial reporting, and will be introduced to working with Quickbooks. The intern may also be assigned duties in other departments as needed.

Stadium Operations Internship

The Lake Erie Crushers are now accepting application for Stadium Operations Interns for the Summer of 2023 season. This is an unpaid Internship and all applicants will be required to receive college credit for this opportunity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work alongside, and assist and report to, the Director of Stadium Operations with daily operations duties
- Stadium maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep, working with sub-contractors, the City of Avon, and various vendors
- Planning, set-up, and breakdown of all stadium events throughout the season
- Daily management and scheduling of game day staff members (Ticket Takers, Ushers, Kids Zone, Cleaning Crew, Security Staff, Parking, and emergency service vendors)
- Assist other departments with various tasks, when necessary and appropriate
- Manage and cultivate vendor relationships for ballpark improvement projects and day-to-day affairs
- Assist in departmental problem solving, project planning, and the development and execution of departmental goals and objectives
- Perform daily walk throughs of the facility to ensure proper set-up is complete for each event
- Other duties as assigned
Expectations/Qualifications:
- Active interest in working in professional sports
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of one year of working in sports preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of how to operate basic hand tools and heavy machinery preferred, but not required
- Proactive, energetic, self-starter
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Ability to spend most of the shift outside and on your feet in extreme weather conditions
- Spend long hours, days/nights/overnights, weekends, and holidays at Mercy Health Stadium
- Work well with others and independently
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to balance many projects at once
- Be a leader in customer service
- Conduct self in a professional manner both in personal appearance and attitude
- Represent the Lake Erie Crushers at business and community functions in a professional manner

Video Production Internship

We are looking for interns interested in videography, video editing and live broadcast production for the 2023 season. Â The position is UNPAID, and academic credit is REQUIRED to participate in this program.

- Direct 3 camera live video stream of all 51 Crushers Home Games.
- Run 3 remote cameras
- Run graphic production elements of live video stream/broadcast
- Shoot and edit news-style video packages of player interviews, community relations events and appearances, and other team-related events.

Baseball Analytics Internship

The Lake Erie Crushers are searching for a 2023 Baseball Analytics intern. This is an UNPAID Internship and candidates are REQUIRED to receive college credit to qualify for this position.
The Baseball Analytics Intern will assist Baseball Operations decision-making through the analysis and facilitation of baseball information. The specific day-to-day responsibilities of this position will vary depending on the baseball calendar, but will revolve around analyzing and troubleshooting baseball data. A competitive candidate will be an excellent communicator and possess an established foundation of analytical skills.
Qualifications
•Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to self-direct
•Demonstrated baseball research, experience visualizing data, and/or strong technical acumen
•Ability to communicate baseball analytics concepts to individuals with diverse baseball backgrounds, including coaches, scouts, and executives
•Understanding of and passion for the game of baseball
•High level of familiarity with the current state of baseball research
•Ability to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout May – September 2023
•Studying Undergraduate or graduate degree in a field that emphasizes technical and analytical problem-solving skills, such as mathematics, computer science, engineering
Familiarity with YakkerTech, PrestoSports and baseball/softball playing experience a plus
•Ability and desire to learn other programming languages as needed
