EVANSVILLE, Indiana – The Lake Erie Crushers dropped their season’s final game against the Evansville Otters, 3-1. The Men of Crush gained the advantage early but sputtered throughout the duration of the game offensively.

The lone run for Lake Erie came home in the opening frame. Shawon Dunston Jr. motored home from second base on a single by Zach Racusin. Manager Dan Rohn took the mound for the Crushers to begin the bottom of the first. He battled Boots Day, the Otters bench coach, in a true veteran of the game head-to-head. Day grounded out and Rohn was substituted for Paul Hall Jr.

Evansville scored a pair of runs in the second inning. John Schultz and Justin Felix crossed home plate on a double off the lumber of Josh Allen. The Otters never looked back after snagging the lead. Elijah MacNamee smacked a two-bagger to tally the final run of the day for Evansville in the sixth.

Hall Jr. spent 5.2 innings on the rubber for the Grapest Show on Turf. He allowed three runs on five hits, and he sat down five Otters via the strikeout. Hall (3-10) received the loss, and Tim Holdgrafer (10-4) earned the victory to clinch the series for Evansville. Logan Sawyer reached the quarter-century mark in saves to finish off the season.

Lake Erie ends its season at 41-55 and finishes 10 games back of the Central Division winning Schaumburg Boomers. The Windy City ThunderBolts found their way to second in the division, pushing the Crushers down to a third-place position.
