Kitchen Leader

The Lake Erie Crushers are searching for a Kitchen Leader for our food & beverage team for the 2022 baseball season.  The Kitchen Leader is in charge of overseeing the kitchen staff in 2 dedicated concession kitchens, 1 main and 1 secondary kitchen. The direct kitchen staff will consist of 6–10-line cooks, and 2-5 dish staff. The kitchen will primarily serve all the fans (up to 3500) in the ballpark through the 2 concession outlets as well as 11 suits and 3 picnic plazas

KL Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports directly to Food and Beverage Director
  • Manages assigned staff including teaching, training, performance, and discipline.
  • Effectively communicates to Director to ensure effective and efficient operations without issue.
  • Controls labor through the game and nongame days.
  • Build trust with other managers and staff
  • Works directly with Stand Manager in controlling the pars of food during the game
  • Oversees smooth operations of all aspects of the Kitchen
  • Aides Director In inventory management with ordering, stocking, rotation, and checking freshness levels daily
  • Makes sure all food is properly prepped and served in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintains strong culture amongst all staff
  • Maintains food quality standards and oversees all stages of food procurement, production and service including storage, rotation, and food preparation.
  • Conducts daily line checks and makes sure everything is stocked, ready and in its right place prior to opening gates.
  • Completes prep list from Director each day in a timely manner to ensure successful operations.
  • Meets with Food and Beverage Director daily to ensure a clear line of communication and needs for day-to-day operations
  • Serve Safe Certified Recommended

 

This is a seasonal position lasting from beginning of May to mid to late September, with work weeks averaging near 40 hours. 50 or more during home stands and less when team is on the road.

 Assistant Kitchen Leader:

 The Lake Erie Crushers are searching for an Assistant Kitchen Leader for our Concessions team for the 2022 baseball seasonThe Assistant Kitchen Leader is in charge of overseeing the kitchen staff in one dedicated kitchen with up to 2-line cooks.

This fantastic opportunity to become part of the Lake Erie Crushers Baseball Organization and create top level cuisine needs an assistant leader in their culinary endeavors for the 2022 season

AKM Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports directly to Kitchen Manager
  • Manages assigned staff in performance, and discipline.
  • Effectively communicates to management to ensure effective and efficient operations without issue.
  • Controls labor of their kitchen through the game.
  • Trains, develops, and teaches staff
  • Build trust with staff and other Managers
  • Works directly with Stand Manager in controlling the pars of food during the game
  • Oversees smooth operations of all aspects of the Kitchen
  • Makes sure all food is properly prepped and served in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensures compliance with inventory, ordering and costs.

 Line Cook

The Lake Erie Crushers are looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact specifications and to set up stations in the concessions. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and will prepare meals for the entire ballpark, including 3 picnic areas and 11 suites. responsible for preparing concessions menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment.

 Line Cook Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports directly to Kitchen Leaders
  • Must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Portion control and adherence to menu specs are essential in eliminating food waste.
  • Receive verbal orders from counter staff and quickly prepare items through hot windows.
  • maintain quality and production standards on all menu items,
  • operation of large volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep fat fryers and ovens,
  • maintain sanitation and health standards in work areas, demonstrate the ability to meet company standards in any situation.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guest in a clear, respectful, and business-like manner.
  • Organize and setup station prior to shift and breakdown and clean work area after game.
  • Aides in putting away deliveries
  • May be asked to wash dishes and assist in the dish room
  • This is a seasonal part time position lasting from Beginning of May to mid to late September, with work weeks averaging near 40 hours during home stands

Dishwashers

 The Lake Erie Crushers are looking for Dishwashers/Kitchen Staff to be part of our food & beverage team for the 2022 baseball season

The primary objective of this position is to provide a clean and safe kitchen area for our staff by washing and cleaning, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. As well as keeping the dish room and equipment clean and organized.

Dishwasher Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports directly to Kitchen Manager
  • Assumes 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware
  • Aides in all deliveries
  • Load, run and unload dish machine.
  • Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the kitchen manager immediately.
  • Monitor dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
  • Wash and store all kitchenware.
  • Keep dish room clean and organized.
  • Complete opening and closing checklists.
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
  • Bag and haul kitchen trash to dumpster.
  • Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
  • Clean food preparation and production areas if necessary.
  • May assist in the prep of kitchen menu items
  • May assist in the setup and breakdown of picnic areas as well
  • Must be able to work past 10:00 PM
  • This is a seasonal part time position lasting from Beginning of May to mid to late September, with work weeks averaging near 30 hours during home stands

Stand Managers

The Lake Erie Crushers are looking for Concession Stand Managers to be part of our food & beverage team for the 2022 baseball season.

Concession Stand Manager Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports to Assistant Food and Beverage Director
  • Looking for super friendly and hospitable team members to greet and assist fans in taking orders
  • Have responsible cash handling duties, in counting drawer, ringing items, redeeming payments (cash, credit, coupon and vouchers), and balancing drawer at shift close.
  • Must be proficient in all menu offerings
  • Managers will be teaching and training all cashiers and assistants in food preparation, menu knowledge, and draft pouring.
  • Managers will oversee cashiers, and assistants. responsible for performing daily tasks in their various outlets during the game times.
  • Manager responsible for opening, running, and closing duties and side works
  • Manager works directly with Kitchen Leaders to ensure proper par levels throughout the game
  • Must be 19 years or older

Suites Manager

The Lake Erie Crushers are looking for a Manager for our Suite Level Staff to be part of our food & beverage team for the 2022 baseball season.

Suite Manager Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports to Food and Beverage Director
  • Will work with Sales Team in facilitating the Presale of Food and Beverage to Suites Prior to the Game.
  • Must be overly proficient in all the menu offerings
  • Must meet and exceed all the guests’ expectations for every suite
  • On Game Day Suites manager will also be the head suites server
  • Suites Manger will train, coach, and educate all the suite servers
  • SM will be extremely hospitable and greet and assist Suites in selling the menu on Game Day as well. Will be responsible for all 11 suites
  • Have responsible cash handling duties, in counting drawer, ringing items, redeeming payments (cash, credit, coupon and vouchers), and balancing drawer at shift close.
  • Seasonal positional from May to Sept (48 games plus special events through season)
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Hourly pay rate plus Commissions

Suite Level Servers Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports to Suite Manager

  • Servers will have up to 11 suites per game.

  • $8 per hour plus a portion of the 10% tip share.

Terrace Table Servers & Runners Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports to Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

  • Delivery runners will also build all menu offerings
  • Responsible for opening, running, and closing duties of a well maintained station.
  • Runners will deliver food and beverages to all terrace tables
  • Seasonal positional from May to Sept (48 games plus special events through season)
