Mercy Health Stadium to Get Upgrades

Mercy Health Stadium, the home of the Lake Erie Crushers, will be receiving a new video scoreboard as part of an agreement with Lorain County.
The County has awarded the City of Avon $ 995,000 in American Rescue Plan Act grant funding, to perform upgrades to the city-owned facility. Among the upgrades will be a new video scoreboard for the stadium, as well as funding for a youth football field which will be operated by the French Creek YMCA.
“The Crushers are incredibly grateful to both the Lorain County Commissioners and the City of Avon for partnering on this project”, stated Crushers Co-Owner Tom Kramig.
“We believe these upgrades will dramatically improve the fan experience at Mercy Health Stadium, while also drawing more visitors to Lorain County.”
The city recently completed the replacement of the turf playing surface at the stadium, removing the 14-year-old original turf. The city is also hoping to replace the electronic stadium marquee signage along Interstate 90 as part of this project and exploring the possibility of replacing some of the stadium lightings with LED light fixtures.
