Kitchen Manager

This fantastic opportunity to become part of the Lake Erie Crushers and create top-level cuisine setting the opening bar for other minor league teams to emulate needs a leader in their culinary endeavors for the 2021 season.

Kitchen Manager- The Kitchen Manager is in charge of overseeing the kitchen staff in 2 dedicated concession kitchens, 1 main and 1 secondary kitchen. The direct kitchen staff will consist of 6-8 line cooks and 2-3 dish staff. The kitchen will primarily serve all the fans (up to 4500) in the ballpark through the 2 concession outlets as well as 11 suites and 3 picnic plazas.

KM Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports directly to Food and Beverage Director
  • Ensures proper staffing through the recruiting and interviewing process
  • Manages assigned staff including scheduling, performance, and discipline.
  • Effectively communicates to management to ensure effective and efficient operations without issue.
  • Controls labor through the game and nongame days.
  • Trains, develops and teaches staff
  • Build trust with staff and other Mangers
  • Oversees smooth operations of all aspects of the Kitchen
  • Controls food cost through proper ordering, strategic forecasting and planning, inventory and budgeting, and close implementation of all recipe specs
  • Assists in the implementation of all the system set forth for ideal cost controls through specific vendors
  • Makes sure all food is properly prepped and served in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensures compliance with inventory, ordering and costs.
  • Maintains strong culture amongst all staff
  • Maintains food quality standards and oversees all stages of food procurement, production and service including storage, rotation and food preparation.
  • Conducts daily line checks and makes sure everything is stocked, ready and in its right place prior to opening gates.
  • Completes prep list each day to ensure successful operations.
  • Meets with Food and Beverage Director daily to ensure a clear line of communication and needs for day to day operations
  • Serve Safe Certified Recommended

This is a seasonal position lasting from May 15 to mid to late September, with workweeks averaging near 40 hours.  50 or more during home stands and less when the team is on the road.

Pay rate based on experience.

Assistant Kitchen Manager (1) BOE

AKM Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports directly to Kitchen Manager
  • Manages assigned staff in performance, and discipline.
  • Effectively communicates to management to ensure effective and efficient operations without issue.
  • Controls labor of their kitchen through the game and nongame days.
  • Train develop and teach staff
  • Build trust with staff and other Mangers
  • Oversees smooth operations of all aspects of the Kitchen

Line Cook (10) BOE

We are looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact specifications and to set up stations in the concessions. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and will prepare meals for the entire ballpark, including 3 picnic areas and 11 suites. responsible for preparing concessions menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. Pay BOE.

Line Cook Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports directly to kitchen Manager
  • Must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Portion control and adherence to menu specs are essential in eliminating food waste.
  • receive verbal orders from counter staff and quickly prepare items through hot windows.
  • maintain quality and production standards on all menu items,
  • operation of large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep fat fryers and ovens,
  • maintain sanitation and health standards in work areas, demonstrate the ability to meet company standards in any situation.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, respectful and business-like manner.
  • Read and write English, Work well in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment, possess a valid food handling certificate if required.
  • Organize and setup station prior to shift and breakdown and clean work area after games.
  • May be asked to wash dishes and assist in the dish room
  • This is a seasonal part-time position lasting from the beginning of May to mid to late September, with workweeks averaging near 40 hours during home stands

Dishwasher (5) BOE

Our Dishwashers’ primary objective is to provide a clean and safe kitchen area for our staff by washing and cleaning, pots, pans and cooking equipment. As well as keeping the dish room and equipment clean and organized.

Dishwasher Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Reports directly to Kitchen Manager
  • Assumes 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware
  • Load, run and unload the dish machine.
  • Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the kitchen manager immediately.
  • Monitor dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
  • Wash and store all kitchenware.
  • Keep the dish room clean and organized.
  • Complete opening and closing checklists.
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen
  • Bag and haul kitchen trash to the dumpster.
  • Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
  • Clean food preparation and production areas if necessary.
  • May assist in the prep of kitchen menu items
  • May assist in the setup and breakdown of picnic areas as well
  • This is a seasonal part time position lasting from the Beginning of May to mid to late September, with work weeks averaging near 30 hours during home stands

  • Have responsible cash handling duties, in counting drawer, ringing items, redeeming payments (cash, credit, coupon and vouchers), and balancing drawer at shift close.
  • Must be proficient in all menu offerings
  • Managers will be teaching and training all cashiers and assistants in food preparation, menu knowledge, and draft pouring.

  • Active and energetic, with a positive attitude.
  • Needs to be a quick-thinker: Must be able to follow directions and improvise when necessary.
  • Required to be on your feet and moving for an extended period of time, meaning that you must be in adequate physical condition.
  • Able to interact comfortably and naturally with fans of all ages.
  • An outgoing personality inside the suit.
  • Must be able to perform in different weather conditions (hot & cold temperatures, windy, etc.)
  • Must be available for a large percentage of game days including those on weekends, holidays, and during the early afternoon games.

Stadium Usher
  • Enforce all rules and regulations of Mercy Health Stadium.
  • Provide first-class customer service, and build relationships to all who enter the ballpark.
  • Provide direction to guests in finding their respective seats and/or hospitality areas in a clear, effective, and professional manner.
  • Provide a courtesy cleaning of guest’s seats and/or area when necessary.
  • Address and quickly resolve guest inquiries, ticket questions, and errant seat occupancy.
  • Be attentive to the surroundings of the event to ensure the safety of all guests in the ballpark.
  • Aid with in- and post-game security for events that may take place throughout the ballpark.
  • Assist guests in the need of emergency evacuation of all areas of the ballpark.
  • Keep aisles clear of guests and obstructions.
  • Help in enforcing Mercy Health Stadium’s COVID protocols and procedures including mask and social distancing.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Kids Zone Attendant
  • Enforce all rules and regulations of the Mercy Health Stadium Kid’s Zone.
  • Provide first-class customer service and build relationships to all who enter the area.
  • Sell and collect tickets and/or wristbands for the Rugged Warrior Obstacle Course and Speed Pitch inflatables.
  • Be attentive to the surroundings of the entire area to ensure the safety of all who enter.
  • Roll up and store away all area equipment at the conclusion of each shift.

Morning Cleaning Crew
  • Pick all bulk pieces of trash left behind from the previous game/event.
  • Leaf blow all remaining trash and debris throughout the concourse, seating bowl, dugouts, suite level, and Mercy Health Stadium’s perimeter sidewalks and parking lot.
  • Clean and maintain restrooms which includes stocking all supplies.
  • Pressure wash/hose down the concourse, seating bowl, entry points, and dugouts.
  • Change out any garbage cans throughout the facility, as necessary.
  • Wipe down all picnic tables, garbage cans, and windows.
  • Keep the janitor closets neat and organized.
  • Maintain a strict eye on detail while ensuring all areas of responsibility are clean and professional in presentation to all who enter Mercy Health Care Stadium.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Greet guests as they enter the parking lots for events at Mercy Health Stadium.
