Lake Erie Crusher baseball is all about affordable family fun.  We are looking for high energy, hardworking & dedicated individuals to make the 2017 season one of the best in team history.  We have numerous openings for both paid positions and Internships.  If you have always wanted to work in sports, here is your opportunity.

Food and Beverage Jobs:

Concession Stand Cashiers -Looking for qualified candidates 19 years and older to ring orders, pour beer and provide food and beverages to our Fans in our concessions and portable stands.

Concessions Stand Assistants-Great Summer Job,  must be 16 or older to aid the concession stand employees in getting food and nonalcoholic beverages.

Runners- The key people to make the park flow smoothly. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. or more and 16 years or older.  Runners stock the bar, concession areas and get the food fresh and hot to the suites and picnic plazas.

Servers-Looking for professional guest oriented servers to take care of our 11 suits,  and terrace tables.  The servers must be guest and hospitality focused to take care of season ticket VIPS!!

Catering Servers-3 picnics areas from 40 to 350 guest capacities. These team members will set up and break down banquet style environments prior to the game, must be 19 or older.

Bartenders-Cream of the crop bar keeps to handle one of the busiest bars in the Area. This high volume area is the only dedicated public bar in the Stadium, must be 19 or older and have experience.

Kitchen Manager- The Kitchen Manger is in charge of overseeing the kitchen staff in 2 dedicated concession kitchens, 1 main and 1 secondary kitchen. The direct kitchen staff will consist of 2 to 3 prep cooks, 5 line cooks, and 2 dish staff. The kitchen will primarily serve all the fans (up to 5000) in the ballpark through the 2 concession outlets as well as 11 suits and 3 picnic plazas.

Line Cook- We are looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact specifications and to set up stations in the concessions. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and will prepare meals for the entire ballpark, including 3 picnic areas and 11 suites. responsible for preparing concessions menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast paced environment.

Prep Cook- The prep cook is an individual who assists the chef in preparing the food, maintains the cooking environment clean and safe for all staff members and takes on culinary tasks as they arise.

Dishwashers-primary objective is to provide a clean and safe kitchen area for our staff by washing and cleaning, pots, pans and cooking equipment. As well as keeping the dish room and equipment clean and organized.

PA Announcer- Responsible for in-game entertainment and sponsorship accouncements in between inning breaks in a professional manner. Follow a script and be alert at all times during games. Prior experience is required. Must be available for ALL Crushers home games. Please send a demo to Catie at

Scoreboard Operator- Responsible for setting up the scoreboard with correct information and running the schoreboard for ALL Crushers home games, plus any additional baseball events. Prior experience working with a Daktronics All Sport 5000 Series, or a similar baseball scoreboard.

Audio Board Operator- Responsible for in-game entertainment music and sound effects in between inning breaks. Use knowledge of music and baseball to create a positive and fun atmosphere for fans. Must be available for ALL Crushers home games. Experience with an audioboard ClickEffects, or similar music software, is preferred.

Team Photographer- Responsible for taking pictures for all Crushers home games. Capture the Crushers fun and exciting atmosphere throughout the game, as well as shots of Crushers players. Prior photography experience is required. Please contact Catie at for more information.

Stadium Operations:

Kids Zone Attendent- Will assist the supervisor in preparing the Kids Play Area for the game, including, but not limited to, moving, cleaning, set-up, take-down, and storing the inflatables, and policing of the grounds in the Kids Zone Area. Responsible for Kids Zones monetary transactions during game and reconciling the money at the end of the shift. Other duties may apply.

Ticket Takers- Ticket takers will greet every fan, and will ensure all fans have proper ticket for the day's game. Ticket takers may, on occasion, assist with distributing promotional items at an entrance. Additionally, ticket takers will assist management/security staff in preventing prohibited items from entering or leaving the stadium. 

Ushers- Ushers assist fans with location their respective seating location within the stadium, and assist fans by answering questions about the facility and team. Ushers will also assist in keeping Sprenger Health Care Stadium a clean environment, and work with management staff to resolve any situation which requires attention. 

Merchandise Store Employees- Employees are responsible for stocking and re-stocking merchandise items, cleaning the store, organizing novelty items, assisting guests, operating registers and ringing out sales, and assisting with store security. Employees may also work additional merchandise stands on the concourse. Employees must be able to process cash and credit card transactions and balance a drawer at the end of a shift.

All internships with the Lake Erie Crushers are unpaid and students must receive valid school credit to participate, no housing provided. 

General Internship- Participate in Game Day rotational program which will allow students to experience multiple aspects of minor league baseball operations. Departments include: Ticketing, Promotions & Marketing, Stadium Operations, Concessions, and other departments as assigned.

Food & Beverage Internship- Interns will work directly with the Director of Food & Beverage, learning all aspects of food services at a professional sports venue. Assist with recruiting, scheduling and managing of game day employees. Assist with the food preparation and set up for of concession stands. Help coordinate and service group outings and picnics. Assist with inventory control.

Video Production & Photography Internship- Shoot and edit news-style video packages of various team events. Create and edit highlight footage of each game. Archive and organzie all footage/pictures of each game. General knowledge of video production equipment including camera, digital recording media, editing systems, etc. is needed. Ability to work under a deadline.

Web & Graphic Design Internship- Design flyers and promotional materials for the 2017 season for Community Programs, Promotional Theme Nights, Media Advertisements, and social media use. Update team website on a daily basis including, player information, headlines, subtopics, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Publisher, InDesign, or Photoshop (if working remotely, students will have to provide own software). Ability to work under a deadline.

Athletic Training Intership:

Position Purpose:

The athletic training intern will take an active role in all phases of the athletic training program and will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in the running of their facility and the daily operation of their job. He or she is expected to act in a professional manner at all times while representing the Lake Erie Crushers and Mercy Health. The position will require commitment to coverage of all home games during the 2017 baseball season (roughly 50 games).  The intern will generally work 8-10 hours days depending upon the duration of the contest, but the schedule will alter to team needs.  The position would last from the beginning of the season in May and finish in August when the student needs to return back to school. 

Essential Functions:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to demonstrate the he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Assist the Head ATC with pre game rehabilitation and pre game set up of the athletic training room and field
  • Assist with post game rehabilitation and post game clean up of the athletic training room and field
  • Assist Head ATC with injury evaluation
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and organized training room 
  • Assist in maintaining athletic training room medical supply inventory
  • Assist Head ATC with small tasks needed on daily basis (pharmacy trips, taking athletes to doctor appointments, etc.) 
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with players, coaches, and other staff members

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Must have strong organizational/communication skills
  • Must be punctual and accountable every day 
  • Must be trustworthy and have a positive attitude 
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail, initiative, and leadership abilities

Qualifications and Standards:

  • Enrolled in a college athletic training education program
  • Must be on track to becoming NATABOC certified
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience and knowledge of rehab programs
  • Experience and knowledge of prevention, recognition, evaluation, and care of athletes
  • Moderate level of physical exertion required
  • Must be able to work extended periods of time in unfavorable weather conditions
  • Reliable transportation is required

Other Information:

  • This position is unpaid
  • This position gives preference to juniors and seniors currently enrolled in an athletic training education program, but freshman and sophomore applications will be considered once upperclassmen applications are reviewed
