AVON, Ohio -- The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, got through two innings of Saturday night's game against the Traverse City Beach Bums at All Pro Freight Stadium before the game was suspended due to rain.

The game will be continued on Sunday, Aug. 21, at 4:05 as part of a double header, with a seven inning game to follow.

The first pitch was delayed 14 minutes due to rain, and after the Crushers established a 3-2 lead after two innings, the rain continued to fall, forcing the suspension of the game.

Will Kengor gave the Beach Bums a 2-0  lead in the top of the first inning on a two-run double off the wall in right field, before the Crushers scored three times with two outs in the second. Max Casper reached on a bases loaded RBI single to score Eric Grabe, and Rob Paller followed with a two-run single to center.

The umpires brought both teams off the field shortly after the final out was recorded in the bottom of the second, and the game was eventually suspended moments later.
