Saturday's Game Suspended Due to Rain
Rain suspends Saturday's game between Lake Erie and River City
AVON, Ohio -- The Lake Erie Crushers and River City Rascals had their Saturday night contest suspended due to rain, tied at 2-2 through five innings .
The Rascals do not return to All Pro Freight Stadium this season, therefore, the game will be continued when the Crushers head to O'Fallon, Missouri to take on the Rascals on July 26.
The beginning of the game was delayed 21 minutes due to rain. River City took the lead in the top of the third inning, on a RBI double to right center from Kyle Gaedele, but the Crushers answered in the bottom of the third, on a solo homer to right off the bat of Connor Oliver, his first of the season.
Johnny Morales gave the Rascals the lead once again in the top of the fifth inning, with a RBI triple to right field, but Lake Erie once again answered in the next half inning. As the rain continued to fall, the Crushers received a clutch, RBI single to right from Parker Norris to tie the game at 2-2, before the game was suspended due to rain as the fifth inning ended.
The Crushers are off on Sunday and Monday, but will begin a three-game series with the Schaumburg Boomers at All Pro Freight Stadium on Tuesday night. Right-hander Colin Feldtman (0-0, 0.00) will start for the Crushers and the Boomers will counter with right-hander Brett Mabry (0-0, 0.00). The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
